.Short term...

Thunderstorms are visible across the Samoa Region on latest 

satellite data as a weak trough lingers in the area. Expect this 

trough to hold unstable weather through Tuesday before becoming

more stable midweek. As of now, the potential for flash flooding

is uncertain as thunderstorms are unorganized and smaller than

typical thunderstorms associated with an active trough. This 

means that showers are more likely to be short-lived. However, 

conditions could change within the next few hours, so we will 

continue to monitor the behavior of the trough.



Meanwhile, breezy conditions are felt due to a high pressure

system to the southeast. This high will continue to move east

until it completely subsides from the territory Tuesday night.



.Long term...

Another high pressure system building near Fiji will bring stable

weather on Wednesday. This feature is expected to hold trade 

winds in the area through the end of the week, while pushing the 

trough further north Wednesday. Expect isolated showers Wednesday 

through Thursday, becoming scattered Friday through Saturday due

to showers embedded within the trade wind flow.

.Marine...

Tradewinds near 20 knots continues to produce rough ocean

conditions for mariners. Although no swells are observed at the

PacIOOS buoys, wave heights hold at around 8 feet due to current 

wind conditions. Hence, a small craft advisory remains in effect 

and will likely hold through most of the week.
