FXZS60 NSTU 270058 AFDPPG Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Pago Pago AS 158 PM SST Sun Oct 26 2025 .Short term... A ridge of high pressure remained over American Samoa this morning and early afternoon as satellite imagery shows passing showers. The fair mix of sun and clouds are expected to remain throughout the day Monday with easterly trade winds reaching up to 20 mph. As the high moves further away from the region, another high to the southwest is to form on Monday night. This will change the winds slightly from east to east/southeast and create enough wind convergence to increase the risk of showers to scattered showers (40% chance) throughout the day on Monday to numerous showers (60% chance) on Monday night and Tuesday. Even though showers are likely on Monday night and Tuesday, flash flooding is not expected. This trough is projected to move to the north by Wednesday, which is to decrease potential rainfall back to scattered showers as the high becomes more dominant over the territory. Breezy conditions are expected to continue as the trough is anticipated to strengthen as it remains to the north and is to interact with the ridge over the region. .Long term... Scattered passing showers are forecast from mid to late week with the high pressure remaining over the islands. Breezy easterly winds are anticipated, but is to be below Wind Advisory levels. We will monitor the potential for the aforementioned trough for the upcoming weekend. Overall, severe weather is not anticipated throughout the upcoming week. The highest change of rainfall is from Monday night through Tuesday night. && .Marine...
