FXUS65 KVEF 221936 AFDVEF Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Las Vegas NV 1236 PM PDT Sun Mar 22 2026 .KEY MESSAGES... * Anomalous early-season heat continues through the forecast period. && .DISCUSSION...Today through Saturday. Mid to high cloud cover associated with a passing shortwave will help keep temperatures a few degrees cooler today across parts of the Mojave Desert. That being said, today's highs are still 20 to 30 degrees above normal for late March and daily high temperature records are likely to fall. Temperatures climb again starting tomorrow and peak on Wednesday as the ridge becomes reestablished. Las Vegas has a low (10%) probability of reaching 100 degrees on Wednesday. The center of the ridge moves east from Arizona to Texas later this week, and decreasing heights aloft may reduce temperatures by a few degrees. Once again, these temperatures will still be abnormally hot for this time of year despite the decrease. Expect highs at or above 90 degrees in Las Vegas through the end of the week. && .AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 18Z Forecast Package...Winds remain light and follow typical, daily patterns throughout the TAF period.
