FXUS65 KVEF 220734 AFDVEF Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Las Vegas NV 1234 AM PDT Sun Mar 22 2026 .KEY MESSAGES... * Anomalous early-season heat continues through the forecast period. && .DISCUSSION...Today through Saturday. A weak shortwave pushed through the region along the upper-level ridge yesterday, bringing with it increased cloud cover. This cloud cover yesterday afternoon did not prevent our climate sites from achieving daily high records, as all 7 broke or tied their daily record highs once again for the date of March 21st. This cloud cover will continue to linger through the night, which will allow for additional daily records to fall as morning low temperatures remain elevated. Find additional record information in the CLIMATE section below. Afternoon temperatures cool by 3 to 5 degrees today and Monday compared to Saturday, but will still remain 20 to 30 degrees above seasonal normals. As the ridge rebounds mid-week, afternoon high temperatures increase once again to similar values as seen over the last few days. There is no notable cooldown expected over the next 7 days; Las Vegas forecast highs remain at or above 90 degrees through at least Saturday. && .AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 06Z Forecast Package... For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast California...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Winds will continue to diminish this evening with most TAF sites experiencing winds less than 10KT overnight.
