FXUS65 KVEF 120949 AFDVEF Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Las Vegas NV 149 AM PST Thu Dec 11 2025 .KEY MESSAGES... * Outside of breezy northerly winds in the Colorado River Valley, dry and mild conditions with warmer than normal temperatures will continue into next week. && .DISCUSSION...through next Thursday. Breezy north winds will linger down the Colorado River Valley for a few more days with gusts peaking in the 20 to 30 mph range. Otherwise, weather across the region will remain dry and mild with warmer than normal temperatures continuing into next week as ridging persists over the region. A series of shortwave troughs embedded within the upper-level flow will move through the region beginning tomorrow, bringing periods of increased cloud cover to the region. These shortwaves will also cause temperatures to decrease a few degrees as we see 500 mb heights decrease slightly and the upper- level flow becomes more zonal. However, even with this slight decrease, temperatures will remain well above normal through next week. && .AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 12Z Forecast Package...Light winds following typical daytime and nighttime patterns are expected through Saturday morning.
