High temperatures on Wednesday topped out about 10 degrees warmer than Tuesday and the trend over the next several days will be for temperatures to continue climbing upward as high pressure strengthens over the region. Temperatures today will jump about 5-8 degrees along with another jump of 5-8 degrees on Friday, putting Las Vegas solidly in the mid to upper 90s. A weak shortwave passing through the northern Great Basin will help to keep temperatures steady Saturday and Sunday, but as the ridge strengthens once again early next week, we will see another jump in temperatures. The probabilities of Las Vegas reaching 100 degrees is 50% on Sunday with near 100% on Monday and Tuesday.
