FXUS65 KREV 270926 AFDREV Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Reno NV 226 AM PDT Mon Oct 27 2025 .KEY MESSAGES... * A warming and drying trend emerges today, and continues through this week. * Benign weather will remain through the end of October and into the beginning of November. && .DISCUSSION... A developing ridge of high pressure is poised to bring warming temperatures, clear skies and dry conditions this week. Daytime highs in late October for Reno-Tahoe International airport generally run in the lower 60s, while average highs for the Tahoe Basin are in the low 50s, This week, we will watch the thermometers climb to seasonal averages on Monday, then climb even higher the rest of the week. By Friday, low 70s return to western Nevada valleys and mid to upper 60s to the Tahoe Basin. Winds will be light all week, so it will be a good time to recover from the recent high winds. The light winds and clear skies may help overnight fog development over the Martis and Sierra valleys this week. Looking into November we see more of the same benign weather pattern, as the ridging pattern takes residence over the western US. Longer range outlooks indicate this trend will continue, with the only deviation being a small, low confidence chance of a brush-by system to our north.
