.KEY MESSAGES...



- Last of the snow wraps up this evening along the Wyoming

  border.



- Cold overnight lows staying 5 to 10 degrees below normal

  through Wednesday night. Warming trend to afternoon highs

  through at Friday in the west, Saturday in the east.



- Chance of rain and snow mainly in the north half Saturday

  night and Sunday. Gusty wind returns.

.SHORT TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/...

Leftover showers will wrap up tonight in the Centennial

Mountains and the Teton Valley. High pressure will move over

the region at all levels. This will keep skies clear both

day and night. Expect chilly temperatures the next couple of

nights as northwesterly flow replenishes the cold air. A shift

in the upper levels will allow temperatures to warm Wed night.

Meanwhile, sunny afternoons will have an immediate impact on

warming, first slow with Tue continuing to be below normal 

for highs, but by Wed exceeding normal high temperatures for

the time of year. 



As usual under high pressure, after the low has moved far 

enough south, the breezy to windy conditions in eastern Idaho 

will subside and expect light wind with slope-valley wind 

phenomenon determining direction in the lower elevations, and 

northwest wind shifting to southwest during the day Tue.

Thursday and Friday will be dry with highs in the 40s mountains and 

50s valleys.  Lows Thursday night in the teens and 20s.  Will remain 

in northwesterly flow aloft.  Weak wave aloft will move through over 

the weekend and have some mainly mountains showers Saturday and 

Saturday night with dry conditions returning Sunday into Monday 

under weak upper level ridging.  Expect slightly above normal high 

temperatures Saturday into Monday in the upper 50s to lower 60s 

valleys and mid 40s to mid 50s mountains.  Saturday and Sunday will 

have the strongest winds in the long term period with widespread 10 

to 20 mph speeds in the Snake River Plain.

Look for VFR conditions through the period. Winds have started 

to back off and clouds clear out. Expect mostly clear skies and
