- Dramatic Warming Trend: After a seasonal start in the short 

  term, temperatures will soar into the 80s by early next week —

  roughly 20 degrees above seasonal normals.

Northerly flow aloft continues today with temperatures near

normal mainly in the 50s mountains and 60s to near 70 in

valleys. Dry conditions are expected. Upper level ridge builds

in from the west Thursday and will see extreme warming with 

highs back into the mid to upper 70s valleys and 60s to lower

70s mountains. The high pressure ridge persists into next week

and expect dry conditions to continue through the weekend into

early next week. High temperatures will reach well into the 80s

over the weekend through next Wednesday in lower elevations.

Expect breezy conditions Thursday and Friday with gusts 25 to 35

mph especially in the Snake River Plain. Not expecting

significant impacts for the next week.

VFR conditions expected across eastern Idaho through the period.

SKC/FEW CIGs will become more SCT to BKN later this evening and

overnight with some mid/high level clouds pushing into the

region. Light winds now increase to 10-15 kts in the next few

hours and continue into the overnight. Not expecting any 

precipitation. Winds increase closer to 20 kts by tomorrow

afternoon especially at KPIH and KBYI, slightly lower at KIDA, 

KDIJ and KSUN.
