.KEY MESSAGES...



- After a brief relative cooldown through Tuesday, the dry and 

  warming trend returns through the end of the week.



- Inversions may break provided there is sufficient mixing but

  stagnant conditions will return for the latter half of the

  week as upper level high pressure ridge moves overhead by

  Wednesday. Air stagnation advisories have been re-issued with

  the high pressure return.

No short term impacts as strong upper level high pressure ridge

moves overhead Wednesday. No precipitation is expected with

light winds tonight through Wednesday night. Lows tonight teens

and 20s mountains and 20s to lower 30s valleys. Highs Wednesday

Upper 30s and 40s mountains and mid 40s to lower 50s valleys.

Lows Wednesday night again teens and 20s mountains and 20s to

lower 30s valleys.

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...

Upper ridge continues to dominate conditions Thursday through

Saturday with very mild conditions, light winds and no chance of

any precipiation. Highs Thursday through Sunday in the 40s and

50s with some low elevations close to 60 by Friday. Start to

get into more of a westerly flow pattern by Sunday and grids

start to show some precipitation chances in the central

mountains late Sunday. Models very inconsistent especially

operational ones Monday and Tuesday but for now have a

widespread chance of snow and rain everywhere in southeast idaho

both days early next week. Also expect cooling with highs mainly

30s mountains and upper 30s to lower 40s valleys on Monday and

Tuesday much closer to seasonal normal. There is a greater than

50 percent chance for some light mountain snow accumulation

Monday and Tuesday.

We are looking at VFR conditions and light winds, with mainly 

higher clouds impacting our area in the next 24 hours. Low and

mid level clouds continue for a few more hours as the system

clipping the Divide races off to the southeast. While not

forecast due to very low probability, a few flurries are still

possible until lower clouds clear out.

A large high pressure ridge aloft moves overhead Wednesday and

air stagnation advisories have been re-issued through the

weekend with the air stagnation expected to increase through the

next few days.
