.SYNOPSIS...High pressure will continue to bring well above 

normal temperatures and dry weather to the region into next week.

.DISCUSSION...Northern AZ will remain under the influence of

strong high pressure. Expect several days of dry conditions, 

light winds, and above normal temperatures. For today, we are

seeing clear skies and high temperatures peaking 10-20 degrees 

above normal. Flagstaff is close to the daily record of 64 degrees,

however easterly winds may cause us to barely fall short. We shall

see!



A weak shortwave embedded within the ridge is forecast to pass 

overhead on Sunday-Monday, but even then heights will remain 

above normal. Expect some passing high clouds, and daytime temps a

few degrees cooler than previous days. By Wednesday, we see a 

more prominent flattening of the ridge. Above normal temperatures 

and dry conditions will remain, but winds will be breezier from 

the west-southwest.

.AVIATION...Friday 12/18Z through Saturday 13/18Z...VFR conditions

and light/variable winds expected through the period. Localized NE

breezes 10-20 kts possible 06Z-16Z downwind of higher terrain in

Yavapai County.



OUTLOOK...Saturday 13/18Z through Monday 15/18Z...VFR conditions

expected, with increasing high clouds Saturday evening through 

Sunday. Light and variable winds forecast for most areas through 

the weekend. Localized NE breezes 10-20 kts possible 06Z-16Z each 

day downwind of higher terrain in Yavapai County.

.FIRE WEATHER...Saturday and Sunday...Dry and warm conditions 

continue with daytime temperatures reaching 10-20 degrees above 

average. Light and variable daytime winds around 5 to 15 mph each 

day. Localized northeast breezes 10-15 mph each night south of 

terrain features in Yavapai and Gila counties.



Monday through Wednesday...Dry and warm conditions will continue 

into next week with temperatures 10-20 degrees above average. Light 

and variable daytime winds around 5 to 15 mph Monday and Tuesday, 

southwest 10-15 mph gusting around 20 mph Wednesday.
