The warming reaches its zenith tomorrow through Saturday, with maximum temperatures in lower elevations above 100 degrees. Even though overnight low temperatures are in the 60s throughout the area providing some relief, a Heat Advisory has been issued due to the very hot daytime temperatures. Some local areas with morning lows around 70 degrees will be under Major Heat Risk Friday and Saturday, while the rest of the area with morning lows in the 60s and 50s see Moderate to Minor Heat Risk. As the driving upper level ridge flattens Friday, afternoon wind gusts pick up especially in Idaho. Beginning friday through the weekend, wind gusts 20 to 30 mph are possible in open areas and ridges. Elsewhere, gusts up to 20 mph are possible. && .LONG TERM /Saturday through Wednesday/... A ridge of high pressure will remain over Utah through the extended period. Temperatures will be 5-10 degrees above normal with lower valleys in the low 100s Saturday.
