FXUS64 KSHV 271749 AFDSHV Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Shreveport LA 1249 PM CDT Mon Oct 27 2025 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Issued at 1100 PM CDT Sun Oct 26 2025 - Lowering visibility from fog looks likely again tonight and into Monday morning. - Rain returns to the area on Tuesday ahead of a cold front with gusty winds and cooler temperatures behind it. - Dry and cool conditions continue through the rest of the week. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1116 PM CDT Sun Oct 26 2025 Near calm winds resulting from high pressure firmly established across the region along with increased low-level moisture from recent rainfall will allow for the potential for overnight fog across much of the ArkLaTex. Expect mild overnight lows averaging in the mid 50s. Northwest flow to persist aloft through Monday allowing for dry conditions areawide. A combination of dissipating fog and low clouds will persist through the morning with skies improving thereafter. High temperatures are forecast to range from the mid 60s across south Arkansas, where ceilings may be slower to break and the airmass is slightly cooler, to the lower 80s across Deep East Texas. Upper-flow to become zonal on Monday night into Tuesday as an upper- low dives southeast into the Plains. A surface front translating east across the ArkLaTex ahead of the upper-low will allow for increased showers and thunderstorms across much of the region on Tuesday into Tuesday night. Big changes expected on Wednesday as high pressure rebuilds behind the departing front bringing elevated winds areawide followed by much cooler temperatures. Winds to gradually diminish through Thursday with high temperatures averaging in the 60s with overnight lows in the mid 30s to near 40. A gradual warming trend is expected through the weekend as the surface high shifts east and southerly flow returns. /05/ && .AVIATION... (18Z TAFS) Issued at 1241 PM CDT Mon Oct 27 2025 Low level stratus isn't quick to clear for our northeastern zones this TAF period. Several sites remain borderline MVFR/IFR with low ceilings that should continue to clear out over the next several hours. Scattered cloud cover will remain over much of the area overnight. The main story will be the next round of rain from the northwest beginning to impact KTXK by 28/09z. This rain will move southeast and cover the rest of the region by the end of the period. Winds will also pick up with these showers, with western sites starting to see 15+ kt gusts behind the cold front by the end of the period. /57/ && .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
