(Tonight through Friday Night) Issued at 1016 PM CDT Wed May 6 2026 A cold front is moving through Middle TN tonight and will clear the region by Thursday morning. This will bring drier air along with high pressure building in from the NW. Any lingering light rain or drizzle should end my mid-morning, with clouds gradually giving way to sunshine. Cooler weather is once again expected Thursday, with highs in the upper 60s. North winds prevail and will be light. By Thursday night, clear to partly cloudy conditions take over with lows dropping into the mid 40s. We could even see upper 30s across portions of the Upper Cumberland. High pressure slides east Friday, allowing a return to warmer weather. Expect mostly sunny skies and highs climbing into the mid 70s. South winds return and increase through the afternoon. Friday night remains mostly clear, becoming partly cloudy with lows in the mid 50s. && .LONG TERM... (Saturday through next Thursday) Issued at 1016 PM CDT Wed May 6 2026 High pressure remains in control Saturday, keeping conditions dry. Highs will reach the upper 70s once again with mostly sunny skies. Through the overnight, skies become partly cloudy and we have a slight chance of showers across the south. Sunday looks to be a transition day as a trough moves through the Ohio Valley. Rain chances increase, especially late in the day into Sunday night, as a cold front approaches. The front pushes through early next week, with additional showers and storm chances. Temperatures moderate a bit through early next week. By mid next week, guidance suggests more seasonal weather with periodic rain chances and highs in the mid to upper 70s. As of now, no severe weather or prolonged heavy rain is anticipated. && .AVIATION...
