(Rest of today through Thursday) Issued at 1039 AM CDT Wed Jul 2 2025 A front has moved through Middle TN, and behind it, much drier air has filtered into the area. Dewpoints are generally sitting in the 60s at this time and are expected to stay in this range through the afternoon. That will translate to much lower humidity today with high temperatures warming into the 80s to near 90 under mostly sunny skies. Overall, much calmer weather is in store through Thursday as high pressure stays in control and drier air is in place. High temperatures trend up a degree or two Thursday, but dewpoints staying in the 60s will still keep our humidity values low with still mostly sunny skies. && .LONG TERM... (Thursday Night through next Wednesday) Issued at 1039 AM CDT Wed Jul 2 2025 By the Fourth of July, upper-level ridging remains in place, leading to a steady increase in daily high temperatures. High temperatures for Independence Day will warm into the low- to mid-90s and continue to warm into the holiday weekend. Humidity will slowly be on the rise as well, leading to heat indices near 100 west of the Plateau this weekend. While our rain chances remain very low through the weekend, that will change as we head into early next week. The steadily increasing humidity combined with a series of shortwaves tracking through the area will spell the return of daily rain chances starting Monday. && .AVIATION...
