Issued at 246 AM CDT Sun Oct 26 2025 Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms were in progress across AR early this Sunday morning. Additionally, low ceilings and patchy to areas of fog were noted at many sites around the state via ASOS/AWOS stations. Fog was currently above advisory criteria but will be monitored through the AM hours for any significant trends downward. This ongoing bout of wet weather was the result of an approaching upper level closed low invof TX/OK/KS. The aforementioned upper low is progged to track across the region today into tonight prolonging unsettled weather conditions across AR. Activity should gradually diminish from SW to NE through the late afternoon and evening hours. Temperature will be held in check today thanks to scattered precipitation and thick low cloud cover; high temperatures should range from the upper 50s to upper 60s. Additional rainfall amounts could add up to 0.25"-0.50" across Wrn AR, to 0.5"-1" over Cntrl AR, and 1"-2" across Ern AR. The upper closed low should advance E of the state and the MS River by Monday. While drier conditions are expected on Monday, wet weather is anticipated to return as early as Tuesday into the day on Wednesday with the approach of a strong cold front. The cold front will be steered by strong NW upper flow diving SEwrd through the Cntrl Plains. In the wake of the frontal passage, strong PGF from a passing surface low will generate brisk W and NWrly winds gusting upwards of 20-30 kts. Behind the front drier conditions will return and cold air advection will be very noticeable. Low temperatures should be in the mid 30s to mid 40s with highs only climbing into the 50s and 60s. Elevated winds during the overnight period may preclude any frost mentions at this time. && .AVIATION...
