(Today through Sunday night) Issued at 1200 AM CST Fri Dec 12 2025 High pressure has shifted east and is moving across Florida while another ridge is dropping south from Canada into the northern plains. As the Florida ridge departs, southerly winds will increase moisture and temperatures today and into Saturday. A few streamer showers will be possible today with the WAA, but mainly over Acadiana. The main story in the short term is the cold airmass dropping out of Canada into the northern plains. A sharp cold front will push through the area Saturday night into early Sunday. Strong north winds can be anticipated Sunday. Areas of rain will be possible early Sunday with decreasing rain chances through the day. Winds may reach adv criteria along and south of I-10 Sunday afternoon. && .LONG TERM... (Monday through Friday) Issued at 1200 AM CST Fri Dec 12 2025 Strong CAA will occur at the beginning of the long term. A hard freeze is likely across much of Cen LA and into the East TX Lakes Region by Monday morning. A light freeze will be possible to the coast. Northerly winds will push wind chills into the mid teens to mid 20s. All precip will be well out of the region by the time freezing temps arrive. The ridge will shift east by early Tuesday with a warming trend expected into the end of the week as winds become southerly once again. && .AVIATION... Winds will be light and SE tonight then light and south to SW tomorrow. && .MARINE... Issued at 1200 AM CST Fri Dec 12 2025 Winds offshore will remain out of the south with varying SE components through early Saturday afternoon. Occasional showers are possible Friday and Saturday, but coverage appears limited. Overnight Saturday into Sunday a very robust cold front will push offshore. Gale Watch may necessary for this period, but at the very least Small Craft Advisory criteria will be well exceeded including lakes and bays. Increasing RH will likely lead to areas of patchy fog Friday morning. Minimum RH values around 40-50% this afternoon will be increasing to 60% - 70% for Friday afternoon. With winds becoming variable and calming to under 3kts following humid onshore / ESE flow, chance of fog is at least 30% for Visibility dropping under 1 mi early Saturday AM. High pressure will build to our east and will pull more moist air north from the Gulf increasing rain chances this weekend.
