Upper level ridging is currently centered over New Mexico and a weak upper level trough situated in the eastern Gulf is leading to very weak upper level flow over our area. Diurnally driven showers will persist daily over sections of our area. Weak upper level flow will lead to slow moving storms, but the average PWAT values dampen the chances for flooding rainfall. A surface high pressure is situated over the eastern Gulf is bringing light southerly winds over our area. Currently sporadic storms have began to initiate over much of the region.
