Issued at 235 AM CST Tue Feb 3 2026 Today and Tonight... Near term guidance continues to show a cold front pushing across our forecast area today. This front will help bring in rain chances later this morning and into the evening as it sweeps from the northwest to the southeast. A few strong isolated storms cannot be ruled out. Afternoon highs in the north will peak in the mid to upper 50s. Elsewhere, areas along and south of I-20 will see highs in the low to mid 60s F. Showers and isolated t-storms will continue later tonight as the front continues to push to the southeast, clearing the Pine Belt predawn Wednesday morning. Overnight lows will dip into the low to mid 30s F areawide. /CR/ Wednesday through next Tuesday... Cooler and quiet conditions will prevail across our area heading into Wednesday and Thursday as the cold front exits our CWA. Overnight lows will dip into the 20s F for both days with highs peaking in the 40s F. We will start to see a warming trend start to get going on Friday with temperatures reaching the 60s F areawide. With low rain chances and temperatures in the 60s F during the day and upper 30s to 40s F during the night, this first full weekend of February looks to be pleasant. Looking ahead into early next week, future guidance is starting to show low rain chances (10% PoPs) generally across northern and eastern portions of our forecast area. Outside of that, daytime highs for early next week are forecasted to peak in the upper 60s F to low 70s F under partly cloudy skies. /CR/ && .AVIATION... Showers will move across the area during mainly the daytime and early evening hours Tuesday as a cold front pushes across the region. Ceilings will fall to MVFR and IFR along the front, beginning around GLH and GWO in the morning, then for HEZ/JAN/GTR and points southeast by evening. Visibility reductions to MVFR are also expected in occasionally moderate to heavy rain. S/SW winds may be gusty at times tomorrow ahead of the front.
