FXUS64 KCRP 121144 AFDCRP Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Corpus Christi TX 544 AM CST Fri Dec 12 2025 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 534 AM CST Fri Dec 12 2025 - Gradual warm-up through the weekend ahead of the next cold front on Sunday - Dense fog expected tonight into tomorrow morning - Low to medium chance for rain this weekend ahead of Sunday cold front && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1159 PM CST Thu Dec 11 2025 Above normal temperatures will return Friday and continue through Saturday before our next front sweeps across the region late Saturday night into Sunday morning. Near to below normal temperatures are expected Sunday through early next week before another warming trend returns mid-week. Due to limited moisture, rain chances for the rest of this work week and beginning of the weekend will be near zero. However, moisture will increase ahead of the front with low to medium (20-50%) rain chances returning Sunday. While moisture levels overall will be on the low end, an increase in surface moisture due to the return of onshore flow will support fog development during the overnight and early morning hours beginning tonight. This includes sea fog as well if light winds and cooler shelf waters persist. && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 534 AM CST Fri Dec 12 2025 IFR/LIFR conditions due to fog this morning, should lift by mid morning between 14-16Z. CIGs are expected to lift to VFR levels, but remain BKN. Another round of fog with low CIGs is expected late tonight, generally after midnight. There is some uncertainty as to how widespread and dense the fog will be as models are showing shorter duration and areal coverage. For now, will go with TEMPO groups for early Saturday morning for all S TX TAF sites. There is a low (10-20%) chance of showers along the coast early Saturday morning. A light southeast to south wind can be expected today, becoming variable tonight. && .MARINE... Issued at 1159 PM CST Thu Dec 11 2025 Gentle southeast flow is expected Friday through Saturday before shifting to the northeast Saturday night and strengthening to a fresh to strong breeze. Wind will remain elevated before weakening back to a moderate breeze Monday afternoon. Low to medium (30-55%) rain chances will return Friday night and hang around through Sunday after the frontal passage. && .FIRE WEATHER... Issued at 1159 PM CST Thu Dec 11 2025 Despite the passage of our next cold front, relative humidity levels are expected to remain above 30% with relatively light to moderate winds. Therefore, elevated fire weather conditions are not expected through early next week. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
