(Tonight through Saturday night) Issued at 128 PM CDT Fri May 9 2025 Quiescent weather conditions will prevail through the short term forecast period or through Saturday night as high pressure continues to increase its influence over the region. Tonight and Saturday night will be slightly cooler than normal and slightly less humid behind the cold front. Overnight lows are progged to be in the 60s across Deep South Texas tonight and again Saturday night. Daytime highs on Saturday are expected to top out in the mid to upper 80s across Deep South Texas (upper 70s along SPI and the beaches along the Lower Texas Coast. && .LONG TERM... (Sunday through next Friday) Issued at 128 PM CDT Fri May 9 2025 The long term period starts off with an upper/mid level cut of low meandering across the Lower Mississippi Valley before lifting northeast early to mid next week as high pressure builds back over Deep South Texas. At the surface, low pressure will lead to some lingering showers, mainly on the waters early Sunday before drying out for the remainder of the forecast period. As we head into Tuesday, surface low pressure over the Rockies will lead to a tightening pressure gradient, with increasing southerly winds, especially along the coast. Temperatures are expected to remain near normal to start the period warming through the week. Temperatures across the Rio Grande Plains will reach the low 100s beginning Tuesday with heat indices between 102 and 105 degrees into Wednesday and Thursday.
