FXUS64 KBRO 022314 AAA AFDBRO Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service Brownsville TX 614 PM CDT Wed Jul 2 2025 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 612 PM CDT Wed Jul 2 2025 - Precipitation chances come to an end by tonight across Deep South Texas. - Seasonable temperatures through early next week. - Minor (level 1 of 4) to moderate (level 2 of 4) heat risk through early next week. && .SHORT TERM... (Tonight through Thursday night) Issued at 1234 PM CDT Wed Jul 2 2025 There are notably lower precipitation chances for this afternoon and evening across Deep South Texas, with around 20-40% chance as remnant tropical moisture interacts with diurnal instability. Surface high pressure and mid level ridging begin to build overhead, and subsidence associated with this feature will bring an end to our unsettled weather period. While some activity may develop tomorrow afternoon along the sea breeze, for the most part most of the region should remain-rain free after this evening. Our attention will then turn to the return of seasonable heat for early July, with highs in the low 90s returning tomorrow afternoon. In combination with lingering moisture, heat index values will range from 100 to 108 degrees. As many begin the holiday festivities tomorrow, remember to practice heat safety to prevent any heat-related illnesses. && .LONG TERM... (Friday through next Wednesday) Issued at 1234 PM CDT Wed Jul 2 2025 The 4th of July holiday and weekend will feature generally rain- free conditions and near to slightly above normal temperatures for early July as the region remains under the influence of ridging aloft. High temperatures Friday through Sunday will range from the mid 80s along the Lower Texas beaches to mid/upper 90s further inland. In combination with the humidity, heat index values each afternoon will range 100 to 108 degrees. There will be a minor (level 1 of 4) to moderate (level 2 of 4) heat risk through the weekend for across all Deep South Texas, which means the heat will primarily affect those sensitive to the heat, as well as those spending a prolonged period of time outdoors without adequate cooling or hydration. Low rain chances (around 20% or less) return early next week. && .AVIATION...
