Highs on Sunday will struggle to climb out of the 20s for most areas. - Moderating temperatures are expected for much of next week with the dry conditions persisting. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 138 PM CST Thu Dec 11 2025 Mild and dry conditions are present over the area today as we remain in northwest mid/upper flow. A shortwave trough digging across the Upper Mississippi Valley area will drive a cold front south across the area tonight. This front will usher in more seasonable air across the area on Friday with breezy northwest winds. Afternoon highs on Friday are expected to top out in the mid and upper 40s for most areas. Sat-Sun...Another more vigorous mid/upper trough is progged to move over the Great Lakes area on Saturday sending a reinforcing shot of cold air south into the Central Plains. Higher probabilities for low clouds and wintry precipitation are expected to remain well north of the region. Thankfully, the coldest air will be shunted eastward with only a glancing blow centered on Sunday with highs struggling to climb out of the 20s in many areas. Mon-Thu...moderating temperatures will return early in the week with dry weather prevailing once again. Above average temperatures are expected for much of the week, peaking on Wed with values climbing into the 60s.
