QPF has trended downward since yesterday as model soundings show limited moisture with a dry wedge between 5 and 8 kft AGL. There is a chance of some weak convection across the extreme southeast forecast area by late afternoon and evening, but most of the global models and CAMs keep convective development off to the south over Ohio. Seasonably cold high pressure builds in for early in the week. The next chance for precip is on Wednesday into Thursday as another clipper rides the polar jet across the Great Lakes with the steadier rain/snow ending by Friday. These clouds have reached MKG/GRR/LAN, and will likely continue to spread southward into AZO/BTL/JXN area by late afternoon. Weak frontal support aloft is also generating a few light showers, which may linger through 00-01Z, particularly over far southern areas. Northerly flow and MVFR ceiling are expected to persist overnight.
