Issued at 255 AM CDT Wed Jul 2 2025 A weak shortwave is working its way northwest to southeast across central Nebraska early this morning. Storms have been going for the past few hours, with localized heavy rain and maybe some wind gusts and small hail. Model guidance has not done a good job of pinpointing where storms will be with this event. Storms on the southern side of this complex have been developing along two outflow boundaries. These storms have been fairly pulsy in nature, strengthening for a few scans and then diminishing in intensity. Based on current trends, storms will mainly impact portions of south central Nebraska. At this time, widespread severe weather is not anticipated. several rounds of heavy rainfall may lead to some localized flooding of low lying areas. An upper trough will be in place over the West Coast today, with an upper ridge over the Front Range, and northwest flow over the Great Plains. Southerly winds will advect warmer air into the region today. Expected highs will range from the low to mid-90s, with lows tonight in the mid-60s to low 70s. Dry conditions are expected for much of the day and into Thursday. The ridge will shift east on Thursday, with another day of hot temps expected. Highs will be in the 90s. A weak disturbance may lift into the region during the late afternoon and evening hours. With limited moisture to work with, can't rule out an isolated thunderstorm Thursday night into Friday morning. Better chances (40-60%) of thunderstorms are expected on Friday as an embedded shortwave troughs lifts northeast, out of the Four Corners region. Moisture will be streaming in from the Pacific with this system. Periodic shower and thunderstorm activity will continue through the Tuesday with the better chances for storms occurring in the evening and overnight hours. It is a little too early to tell if severe weather will be a concern. Expected highs will be in the 80s and 90s each day with lows primarily in the 60s. && .AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z THURSDAY/...
