Wednesday looks to be the warmest day of the week. - Precipitation chances return Tuesday night through Wednesday night. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 351 AM CDT Sun Mar 22 2026 Current surface analysis places low sliding through the Midwest, while high settles through southern Saskatchewan/Manitoba into the northern plains. Quiet weather remains over our area as light precipitation has pushed south of the area with the approaching surface high. For today, cooler temperatures are on tap as surface high settles through central/eastern North Dakota. A short wave pushing into the area combined with warmer air trying to push in behind the high may result in some light rain or snow showers later this morning through this afternoon. Milder day on tap for Monday as warmer air continues its push back in, with high temperatures for many areas running about 10 to 15 degrees above average. A cold front then drops through the area mid to late day. This will result in a modest cool-down for Tuesday. Tuesday night into Wednesday, warmer air pushes back into the area while a few weak waves pass through building ridge to the west. This will result in low to medium precipitation chances, mainly late night Tuesday. High temperatures on Wednesday will be quite warm, with highs pushing into the mid 50s to mid 60s over most locations, about 15 to 20 degrees above average. Cold front then drops through late Wednesday into Wednesday night, bringing low precipitation chances through the area. This also will result in much cooler temperatures for Thursday, with most locations dropping below average. Gradual warmup then expected to close out the week. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z MONDAY/... Issued at 1249 AM CDT Sun Mar 22 2026 MVFR/IFR ceilings remaining through the night.
