FXUS62 KTBW 090015 AFDTBW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 815 PM EDT Thu May 8 2025 ...New UPDATE, AVIATION... .UPDATE... Issued at 746 PM EDT Thu May 8 2025 A slightly more exciting afternoon and early evening hours with some strong storms that supported pea size hail and up to 49 mph winds. This was sponsored by the ample of moisture available, the upper level energy associated with a disturbance, the sea breeze, plenty of instability and the fact that temperatures aloft were cool enough. Most of this activity has now died down and that is left is this muggy air that doesn't feel great. This will likely support some patchy fog overnight and Friday morning, but this should dissipate after sunrise. Another round of showers and storms is possible Friday afternoon along the sea breeze, especially over the interior and east. Again, temperatures aloft will be cool enough that if storms were to materialize, they could support small hail. Afternoon highs will be similar to today with dewpoints in the 70s, very uncomfortable. Otherwise, no chances were made to the forecast as it remains on track. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 746 PM EDT Thu May 8 2025 A few showers remain over interior locations, however, most of the convection have exited the area. Overnight very moist conditions and light winds stay in place bringing the potential for low clouds to develop, especially near LAL and maybe near PGD. Intermittent ceilings are possible through just after sunrise with VFR conditions prevailing. Winds increase out of the west along the sea breeze and rain chances also increase, but highest chances remain over interior locations. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
