At 2 AM, NWS doppler radar indicated a line of showers and embedded 

thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles northwest of 

Norlina to near Hamlet, moving east at 25 mph. Through 3:30 AM, 

places such as Raleigh, Durham, Fayetteville, Cary, Sanford, 

Laurinburg, Henderson, Southern Pines, Rockingham, and Oxford, and 

surrounding areas will see off and on rain and an occasional heavy 

downpour.  Some cloud to ground lightning is also possible.  If 

you're driving in the rain, take it easy and slow down on wet roads 

for your safety.
