Through 200 PM, scattered showers with a few embedded stronger 

thunderstorms will track northwestward at near 15 knots, mainly 

across the coastal waters south of the Middle, including Hawk Channel

and the Straits of Florida, as well as the Gulf waters north of the 

Lower Keys. The stronger activity in the vicinity of Marathon Humps 

as well as Smith Shoal will produce wind gusts near 20 knots, poor 

visibility in heavy rain, and a few0 lightning strikes. Some island 

communities between Marathon and Islamorada can expect up to one 

quarter of an inch of rainfall.
