Through 500 PM, scattered showers and a thunderstorm or two will move east northeastward at 10 to 15 mph through the coastal waters of the Florida Keys, especially across the southeastern Gulf, and along a reverse cloud line in and near the island chain from Ramrod through Key Largo. The thunderstorms will be capable of brief bouts of lightning, periods of blinding downpours, and localized wind gusts near 25 mph. Any island location along this stretch may be affected by this activity and an additional quarter to one half of an inch of rainfall. We are watching relic outflows spilling south towards the Lower Keys, that may turn into triggering mechanisms for additional showers or storms over the next hour or two. $$
