WARNING FOR LAND AREAS

	
A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAIN IN FORCE FOR THE NIUAS LAND AREAS.

		

SITUATION

	
A ridge of high-pressure extending onto the southern waters of Tonga from the southeast will continue to circulate easterly wind flow. Meanwhile, a trough to the north of the Niuas and another trough lies over Vava'u which will bring cloudy conditions with showers across these vicinities.

		

FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA

	
FOR THE NIUAS:
Moderate to fresh east wind, strong at times over the Niuas.
Fine then becoming cloudy at times with scattered showers possible heavy at times.

FOR VAVA'U, HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA:
Light to moderate east to northeast winds.
Cloudy with possible showers and can be heavy at times with potential of thunderstorms over Vava'u. Elsewhere, mostly fine.

		

OUTLOOK FOR THURSDAY

	
FOR ALL OF TONGA:
Moderate to fresh east to southeast winds, strong at times.
Mainly fine apart from cloudy periods with possible isolated showers.

A STRONG WIND WARNING AND SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAIN IN FORCE FOR THE NIUAS COASTAL WATERS.

		

FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA COASTAL WATERS

	
FOR THE NIUAS COASTAL WATERS:
Easterly winds 15-20 knots, then rising to 25-30 knots. Moderate to rough seas (up to 3 metres).

FOR VAVA'U AND HA'APAI COASTAL WATERS:
East wind 10-15 knots rising up to 20 knots at times.
Moderate seas (up to 2 metres).

FOR TONGATAPU, 'EUA, TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS:
East to northeast winds 10-15 knots and becoming east to southeast later tomorrow. Slight seas (up to 1.5 metres).

East to southeast winds 15-25 knots, rising to 30 knots at times.
Moderate to rough seas (up to 3 metres).

FOR TONGATAPU AND 'EUA COASTAL WATERS:
Easterly winds 10-20 knots, rising up to 25 knots at times.
Moderate seas (up to 2.5 metres).

FOR TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS:
East to northeast winds of up to 10-15 knots. Slight seas.
