A STRONG WIND WARNING IS NOW IN FORCE FOR THE NIUAS LAND AREAS.







SITUATION





A ridge of high-pressure extends to the southern waters of Tonga from

 the

southeast, continues to circulate a warm moist east to northeasterly 

wind flow

which will associated with cloudy condition and developing showers fo

r the

Niuas and Vava'u today and tomorrow.







FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA





FOR THE NIUAS AND VAVA'U:

Light to moderate easterly wind, becoming fresh to strong at times es

pecially

for the Niuas tomorrow.

Cloudy periods with occasional showers and possible heavy falls.



FOR HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA:

Light to moderate east to northeast winds.

Mainly fine apart from cloudy periods with possible isolated showers.

FOR VAVA'U, HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA COASTAL WATERS:

East to northeast winds 10-20 knots.

Moderate seas (up to 2 metres).



FOR TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS:

Northeasterly winds 10-15 knots.

Slight to moderate seas (up to 1.5 metres).
