A GALE WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ALL OF TONGA LAND AREAS. SITUATION A high pressure system lies to the far southeast of Tonga continues to circulate a strong to damaging gale force east to southeasterly winds across Tonga today and tomorrow. Meanwhile, an active trough is approaching the Niuas from the north this afternoon. It is expected to approach Vava'u and Ha'apai by early tomorrow morning. Associated clouds with heavy rain and thunderstorms may affect the Niuas, Vava'u and Ha'apai later today and tomorrow. FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TONIGHT FOR TONGA FOR THE NIUAS: Moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds, strong to damaging gale force winds at times.
