A HEAVY RAIN ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE WHOLE OF THE FIJI GROUP.

Situation: A trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the

group. The associated cloud and rain continues to affect the country

till next week.





Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:

Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over the

northern parts of Vanua Levu

[Bua-Lekutu-Dreketi-Seaqaqa-Labasa-Namuka-Udu Point], Western and

Northern Viti Levu [Momi-Nadi-Lautoka-Ba-Ra], Yasawa and Mamanuca

groups.

Elsewhere, occasional rain and few thunderstorms with heavy falls

especially in the afternoon or evening.

Persistent heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

Moderate north to northeast winds, fresh at times.

Moderate to rough seas.
