A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LAND AREAS OF LAU AND

LOMAIVITI  GROUP, KADAVU AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, TAVEUNI AND

NEARBY SMALLER ISLAND, YASAWA, COASTAL AREAS OF RAKIRAKI, UDU-POINT

AND SOUTHERN BUA.



Situation:  A high pressure system to the south of Fiji, generates

and directs strong southeasterly wind flow over the group.

Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:

Expect southeast winds with wind speeds up to 45km/hr over the land

areas of Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands,

Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa, coastal areas of

Rakiraki, Udu point and Southern Bua. Winds gradually easing from

tomorrow night.

Elsewhere, moderate to fresh southeast winds, gusty at times.

Rough seas.



Cloudy periods with some showers over Serua-Namosi,

Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove,

Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Taveuni and nearby smaller

islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

Mainly fine elsewhere. 

Cool nights.



Outlook for Saturday   : Cloudy periods with brief showers over

Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua,

Expect southeast winds with wind speeds up to 45km/hr developing over

coastal Rakiraki. Winds gradually easing from tomorrow night.

Elsewhere, moderate to fresh southeast winds, gusty at times.

Cloudy periods with some showers over Rakiraki. Elsewhere, mainly

fine. Cool nights.

Expect southeast winds with wind speeds up to 45km/hr developing over

Yasawa group. Winds gradually easing from tomorrow night. Elsewhere
