Surface high pressure centered to the northeast of Georgia will dam cooler air along the lee side of the Appalachians, which will spread across north Georgia on Saturday. Within this cooler air, temperatures at the site will start the morning around 58 degrees and rise into the mid 60s by noon. Temperatures will struggle to get above 65 throughout the afternoon. Winds will be from the east throughout the day, ranging from 6-9 mph with gusts of 15-18 mph. Scattered rain showers in the morning and early afternoon are forecast to become more widespread after 2 PM. At this time, rainfall totals through the daytime are forecast to be about 0.1 inch, with higher totals anticipated to remain to the south. The cooler air over north Georgia will also serve to limit instability in the morning and early afternoon, though isolated thunderstorms will become possible into the mid afternoon into the evening.
