.DISCUSSION...Cooler today with a chance for showers in the

morning. Highs will be in the 50s with minimum humidities dropping

to 25 to 35%. Winds will be out of the west across northwestern

South Dakota and out of the north across southwestern and south 

central South Dakota. Sustained winds will range from 10 to 20

mph, gusting 25 to 30 mph.

...HIGH FIRE DANGER...



The grassland fire danger index will reach the high category this

afternoon. Unfavorable weather conditions and low moisture 

content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,

indicate that there is high potential for a fire to spread. 

Outdoor burning should be restricted to early morning 

or evening hours when wind speeds are usually lower and the 

relative humidity is higher.



The outlook for Monday afternoon, The grassland fire danger index

will reach the moderate category to very high category.

The grassland fire danger index will reach the moderate category 

this afternoon. Marginal weather conditions or a lowering 

moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on 

the ground, indicate that there is some potential for a fire 

to spread. Any outdoor burning should be closely monitored.



The outlook for Monday afternoon, The grassland fire danger index

will reach the high category to very high category.
