Dry conditions are expected through much of the upcoming week as a roller coaster ride of temperatures can be expected. Fire danger is likely to become elevated in areas along and west of I-29 on Monday as southerly winds increase up to 30 mph in the afternoon and evening. With relative humidity values falling as low as 30 percent, caution should be used outdoors. Fire weather concerns lower slightly on Tuesday as temperatures continue to rise. Areas south of I-90 will see breezy afternoon gusts with relative humidity values again near 30 to 35 percent. Thursday may pose the greatest fire weather risks of the week as gusty northwest winds form early in the morning. With daytime gusts as high as 40 mph and relative humidity approaching 25 to 30 percent, widespread elevated fire danger may form. Consider postponing burning due to the very high or extreme fire danger.
