FNUS63 KABR 220656 RFDABR Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Aberdeen SD 156 AM CDT Sun Mar 22 2026 .DISCUSSION... Temperatures today return closer to seasonal, with highs ranging from the 40s to mid 50s. These temperatures help keep minimum afternoon humidity values between 35 and 50 percent, which when coupled with decreasing winds (gusting to around 15 miles per hour in the afternoon) will limit fire weather concerns for today. Monday is a different story, with mainly wind-driven fire weather concerns. Southerly winds increase to a sustained 20-25 miles per hour, gusting up to 30-35 miles per hour, with the highest values located over central South Dakota. These strong winds coincide with minimum afternoon humidity between 30 and 40 percent. As a result, Grassland Fire Danger will be High over much of the area, pushing up to Very High over Jones and Lyman counties.
