FNUS22 KWNS 270544 FWDDY2 Day 2 Fire Weather Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1243 AM CDT Mon Oct 27 2025 Valid 281200Z - 291200Z ...NO CRITICAL AREAS... ...Synopsis... As the upper-level trough moves southeastward towards the Mid-South, strong northwesterly winds will overspread the Plains on Tuesday. Farther west, the surface high will be at peak intensity during the morning before weakening and shifting eastward through the period. ...Central High Plains... Surface winds of 15-20 mph (locally 25 mph) will be possible within the cold advection regime. Despite cooler temperatures, some locations could see RH reductions to around 20%. With some precipitation possible along the front Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning, it is not clear what fuel conditions will be like. Given the fuel uncertainty and the cooler temperatures, only locally elevated fire weather is expected. ...Southern California... During the first few hours of the day, winds of 15-20 mph are possible, particularly in the wind prone areas of LA/Ventura Counties. This will also overlap with RH of 15-20% at least briefly. Though elevated to near critical meteorological conditions will probably occur, fuel receptiveness is still expected to mitigate fire weather concerns. Only locally elevated conditions are expected. ..Wendt.. 10/27/2025 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov/fire for graphic product... $$
