FLUS43 KGID 221422 AAA HWOGID Hazardous Weather Outlook...UPDATED National Weather Service Hastings NE 922 AM CDT Sun Mar 22 2026 KSZ005>007-017>019-NEZ039>041-046>049-060>064-072>077-082>087- 231430- Phillips-Smith-Jewell-Rooks-Osborne-Mitchell-Valley-Greeley-Nance- Sherman-Howard-Merrick-Polk-Dawson-Buffalo-Hall-Hamilton-York- Gosper-Phelps-Kearney-Adams-Clay-Fillmore-Furnas-Harlan-Franklin- Webster-Nuckolls-Thayer- 922 AM CDT Sun Mar 22 2026 This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and portions of north central Kansas. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight. Through early this afternoon, north winds will remain moderately-strong across our forecast area, with sustained speeds commonly 25 to 35 MPH, and gusting to around 45 MPH. However, winds will gradually weaken with time this afternoon, especially from around 2 PM onward. Although fire weather concerns this afternoon are not as extreme as they were yesterday due to cooler temperatures and higher relative humidity, our entire area will still observe elevated to near-critical fire weather conditions. This is due to a combination of north winds still gusting 30-40 MPH through much of this afternoon, along with relative humidity dropping to as low as 25-35 percent. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. On most afternoons Monday through Friday, at least near-critical fire weather conditions appear likely within various parts of our forecast area...whenever there is an overlap of winds gusting at least 20 MPH, and relative humidity falling to 25 percent or lower. At this time, no afternoons appear to carry significant concern for outright-critical conditions, but this could change as things get closer in time. && More information may be obtained at the following web page: https://www.weather.gov/hastings $$ Pfannkuch
