A strong cold front will continue to surge southward through our entire forecast area early this morning. As it passes, most places will observe at least a few hours of winds gusting at least 40 to 50 MPH, with a few spotty gusts to around 55 MPH possible. Elevated to near-critical fire weather conditions are likely to return today across our entire forecast area due to the combination of north winds gusting 35 to 45 MPH behind the front, and relative humidity dropping to as low as 25 to 30 percent this afternoon. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. On most afternoons Monday through Friday, at least near-critical fire weather conditions appear likely within various parts of our forecast area...whenever there is an overlap of winds gusting at least 20 MPH, and relative humidity falling to 25 percent or lower. At this time, no afternoons appear to carry significant concern for outright-critical conditions, but this could change as things get closer in time. && More information may be obtained at the following web page: https://www.weather.gov/hastings $$
