Warm and very dry conditions are expected this afternoon, with humidity levels as low as 15 to 25 percent. Coupled with breezy west to northwest winds gusting up to 20-25 mph in areas near and north of the I-90 corridor, fire danger conditions may reach near critical levels. Fire danger will be greatest in localized areas where grasses are still receptive to fire starts and spread. Isolated to scattered light showers during the late afternoon and evening may also produce stronger erratic winds, with a potential for isolated gusts up to 40 to 50 mph. The greater chances for showers and associated stronger winds looks to across southwest Minnesota, and nearby areas of southeast South Dakota and northwest Iowa. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. Hot, dry and windy conditions are expected Sunday and Monday, with south winds gusting as high as 35 to 40 mph while humidity levels fall as low as 15 to 25 percent.
