However, levels are expected to remain below established flood stages, and any overflow along the river should be of minor nature. The Tallapoosa River at The Tallapoosa Water Plant. * At 7:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 5.6 feet. * Action stage is 15.0 feet. * Flood stage is 25.0 feet. * Forecast...The river will rise to 9.6 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall to 8.6 feet early Sunday morning. It will rise to 15.3 feet early Tuesday afternoon. It will then fall again and remain below flood stage. * Impact...At 15.0 feet...Low areas near the junction with the Coosa River begin to overflow. Extensive flooding of low lying areas begins between US 231 and the river at stages of 15 to 25 feet. Another statement will be issued by Saturday evening, or sooner if conditions warrant.
