Winds gusted up to around 45 to 50 mph at times. Late afternoon temperatures across Kansas were mostly in the 60s, although warmer 70s and 80s were noted over far southeast Kansas. The strong winds supported elevated grassfire danger. Winds will gradually weaken this evening and overnight, with forecast low temperatures falling into the 30s to near 40 degrees for most locations. There is a chance for a few light rain showers or sprinkles later tonight over northwest Kansas, but any rainfall amounts will remain very light. A few lingering light showers or sprinkles are possible into Monday morning over northwest Kansas. Otherwise, mostly cloudy skies will linger through the day statewide, with seasonable forecast high temperatures in the 50s and 60s, coolest over northeast Kansas. $$
