A cold front will slowly slide southeast of the Mid-Atlantic through today as a weak wave of low pressure glides by to the south over the Carolinas. Additional showers are anticipated at times through this morning. The highest potential for showers will be south of Interstate 70 and east of Interstate 81 where a few isolated thunderstorms are possible. High pressure will build from the Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic tonight through Friday night leading to a return of below normal temperatures. Frost or near freezing temperatures are possible over the higher elevations west of Interstate 81 late tonight into early Friday morning. High pressure will move offshore on Saturday, with another cold front approaching from the Ohio River Valley on Sunday. Milder temperatures and increasing rain chances are forecast this weekend. $$
